This was a very unusual donation for us.
AMKFSC kindly donated to us a bike (which was donated to them) but was unsuitable for the elderly underprivileged under their care.
The bike had some faulty parts so we had to modify and refurbish it before sending it out to a single mom who needed it for work as a food delivery to sustain her family.
Work done:
- Changed to a non-racing handlebar
- Replaced faulty seat post
- Replaced faulty front derailleur
- Replaced gear shifters (front and back)
- Fixed bent kick stand
- Replaced vintage brakes to standard v brakes
- Installed rear rack
This bike has a sturdy frame which is suitable for the new owner, who is pretty tall and hefty. The cromoly steel frame is more tensile and hence a gentler ride for distance.
Our gratitude and thanks to case worker from SACS
