In July, David and one of our patrons decided to hold a monthly dinner for the migrant brothers from nearby Westlite dormitories. This is in line with our church's befriender activity and hospitality theme.
During the dinner, a cleaner from China walked right into our unit and donated her entire bag of lychees😲. Initially David was worried that since lychees didn't grow in India, that the cleaner would feel snubbed if the brothers didn't eat them but he was so wrong as they went at it with much delight, juice streaming down their arms and dripping on our turf mats.
We decided to hold a dinner for her and the other migrant workers from China as well. It was the first time David cooked a Szechuan dish but it was well received.
Big thank you to Kim for donating these items useful for the China & India migrant workers.
Also, Silvanus and Siew L for sponsoring the respective monthly dinners and our volunteers Rose and K Foo.
