It was certainly a difficult weekend for us and cause to have the blues. Although we received many bike donations, we had run out of both space and sponsorship.
Parking the donated bikes at the carpark attracted the concern of building security and we received a warning. We were stuck as we did not have time to raise funds for the repairs. Sending them out to needy families receiving financial assistance without servicing and repairing them would be cruel.
Thankfully the bike donors understood our predicament and agreed and give them 'as is' to Blue Chas Card holders who may have some means to get these bikes repaired. 6 bikes were immediately collected within 2 hours and 1 next working day.
Both David and I are saddened because it shows how much these unwanted bikes are needed by those less fortunate.
