Gabrielites Unite!

Gabrielites Unite!

A big shout out to teacher Nazeefah of St Gabriel Secondary school who reached out to us.

These young strapping Gabrielites wants to do something meaningful for their VIA (values-in-action) curriculum. With the financial support of the alumni brothers, principal and teacher, the school sponsored the repairs and refurbishing of 2 bikes that were donated to a low income needy family in their community.

We arrive early at 8am to their school, big thank you to our Champion Shawn who helped transport the tools and equipment we needed to the school from Jurong.

Just like with Greendale Sec School, David coached these kids on how to maintain, refurbish and repair the bikes.

The boys wasted no time and got right into it with enthusiasm. They re-cabled gears and brakes, replace damaged parts like rusted chains, inner tubes etc.

Finally, with all repairs and refurbishment done. The bikes were transported back to IMM for David to do the final tuning, cleaning  and safety checks.
We feel so encouraged that these young boys really lived their school's vision of servant leadership, lifelong learning and gracious citizenry. Right? We really hope this spark from Greendale and St Gabriel will catch on and foster gracious inclusivity into our society.
